I recently(10/2006) received this email from a promotional gen research outfit in Quebec.
Hi, my name is Richard A. Gouette, and I'm in the long process
of documenting my family's history, and origins.
As of 2007, I've managed to only find ancestry back to c.1860 +\-
That would be the gentleman you see above. He was my great-great grandfather
Alphonse(Alfonzo) J. Gaouette(Gouette). Notice the spelling? It's one of many interesting factoids
one uncovers when delving into genealogy. I've been at it quite causally, so not
a lot of progress has been made to date in terms of depth of the lineage.
However, I do have notarized copies of some marriage certificates, and social security
forms, so the few things I do have are fairly solid.
