Participated in
Application/System support: I am frequently called upon to provide assistance/support for various applications that are
Used at
Distribution/Repackaging: I use Installshield admin Studio Professional to repackage various vended applications that require distribution to our end users workstations. I will either end up with an MSI, or a stand alone Executable. the distribution can take many forms. I configure ZENWorks application objects, and either force run them, place on a users menu, or schedule them. Also, I am able to push out items silently using winbatch, when a more customized solution is required.
Data/string manipulation: I use Winbatch frequently to do all manner of text/data manipulation. An example might be where I'm asked to compare say, a .txt file with a .csv file: extract a bit of data from one, compare it with a value in the other & replace where needed.
Or , a registry value is needing to be written to certain workstations across the domain, and it needs to happen quickly: so I will build a script to do this and provide a .CSV report of machines affected.
I can create arrays, create GUI interfaces to the scripts, prompt for user input, launch exe's, CMD's, .BAT files using alternate credentials(useful for locked environments).
Scripts of significance:
∆ DirXML: This gem looks at an eDirectory userlist and then as it looks through a Windows domain userlist(traversing OU's) , if it finds a matching username(network username), it Deletes a sub-attribute of DirXML-Associations attribute.
∆ iPrint: This converts Netware printers to iPrint(keeping the default)
∆ SCM Switcher: This allows users to switch environments within SCM to Dev, Training, Prod etc
∆ OneStaff Switcher: This allows users to switch OneStaff environments(locally installed)
∆ WorkstationInfo: This is a multipurpose utility to provide machine info, as well as launch applications
∆ PG: This guy is used by the install team after a PC is ghosted to set a number of PostGhost items:
and it allows users to see a history of PC's that have been imaged.
∆ VISICU Pings: This guy brings up a list of rooms with VISICU servers & selectively does a ping;
a great timesaving troubleshooting tool)
∆ WORx CITRIX: This script front-ends the Pharmacy Application WORx. to run via CITRIX.
