For the love of music...
I first held a guitar around 12 or so.. got my first electric at 13. I can remember that it came in a nice cardboard box, and in no time was sporting(right on the front body) one of those little puffy stickers that were all the rage in 1981.. It was a Paul Stanley sticker..
FAST FORWARD TO MANY YEARS LATER, i'VE LEARNED ENOUGH ON BASS TO BE DANGEROUS...SAME WITH DRUM KIT.
AND THEN IN 2000, WHILE WATCHING RIVERDANCE ON VHS, I WATCHED spellbound AS BRIEN O' BRIAN PLAYED 'Caoineadh Cu Chulainn' ON UILLEANN PIPES.... THE REST WAS HISTORY, AND MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MUSIC WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME.
I DECIDED THAT I JUST SIMPLY NEEDED TO HAVE THESE...UILLEANN PIPES AND PLAY THEM.
I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A MAKER RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN HOME STATE! MR BRUCE CHILDRESS
SINCE THAT TIME, I'VE GONE THROUGH A FEW SETS OF PIPES, PICKED UP HIGHLAND PIPES AS WELL, FIDDLED WITH A BODHRAN, HAVE A COLLECTION OF WHISTLES, AND HAVE COME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS BODY OF MUSIC WE TERM AS 'CELTIC', IS SOME OF THE MOST POWERFUL AND MOVING MUSIC IN EXISTENCE.
